Volunteer and Partner Opportunities
 

Volunteer tutors are needed to help children with their  homework, one-on-one reading, Kid's Café, Supervised Gym Activities and Art Classes.  Volunteers are needed Monday-Thursday from 2:30pm-6:30pm. All volunteers must agree to a background records check, Click here for the Volunteer form. Volunteers are needed for our Thursday Study Buddy program where you spend 1 hour a month with a K-3rd grader on Thursdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm. You will work with the same student each month by helping them with their homework, reading with them, playing games with them and being an encouragement to them. Lighthouse is also a partner with Kosair Charities' "Face It®" program.The Face It® Movement is a 10-year initiative with the vision that all children in Jefferson County will be free from abuse and neglect by 2023. Led by Kosair Charities, the Face It® Movement began in 2012 in response to the public outcry against the increasing number of child abuse deaths in the Commonwealth. The Face It® Movement was officially launched in April 2013 and includes best practices in child abuse prevention, community engagement and promoting effective policies to improve the child welfare system.
